EYH Chicago runs entirely on volunteers, and we couldn’t do what we do without you.
Join our Organizing Committee: We welcome people of all genders and all walks of life to join our organizing committee to help prepare and run EYH. We meet once a month during the year (twice a month as EYH approaches) and the time commitment is about 3-6 hours per month between April to December and 4-10 hours per month between January to March depending on your role, not including the day of the conference in March. We have a wide variety of roles and you can pick a role that works best with your availability. Email us to get involved.
Day-of Conference Volunteers: These volunteers help the functioning of the conference during the event. Conference volunteer applications open in late January and the application will be posted here. Everyone is welcome to apply to be a conference volunteer. The time commitment is quite small, only requiring volunteer attendance for a 1-hour orientation (usually in early March) prior to the conference and then 4-8 hours on the day of the event (usually a Saturday in late March).
Workshop Leaders: These volunteers design and run a hands on workshop for the girls attending our conference. Workshop leader applications are now closed.
Working together with EYH organizers to develop a thorough and effective workshop can take some time. Therefore, the estimated time commitment for workshop leaders is about 1-4 hours per month from December to March and an additional 2 hours in January for orientation. This estimate does not include the day of the conference where full attendance is required. Please click here for more information on what the role entails.
